Construction Update – June 2025
The site has been a hive of activity this month with the arrival of some serious machinery to kick off construction of the Diaphragm Wall (D-Wall).
For the technically minded, this included two Bauer GB50 D-Wall rigs, four 40-foot tanks (that’s two more than last month), a Bentonite Mixer, and a Desander.
All of which you’ll spot in the video above.
This month also marked a major milestone with the commencement of the D-Wall construction. This is a critical structural element that forms the underground perimeter wall of the building’s basement and provides essential support during excavation.
Externally, we’ve upgraded the Oak Avenue frontage with the installation of a new concrete footpath and safety barriers to guide pedestrian movements. This is a big improvement from the previous gravel access.
You might also be wondering what the big tanks on the perimeter are for. Fun fact – they play a key role in the D-Wall process by storing and circulating bentonite, a specialist drilling fluid that helps support the trench walls during excavation and keeps everything stable until the concrete is poured.
Watch the video above to find out how.
