Construction Update – February 2026
As we step into 2026, the year is already off to an exciting start on site at Elements, marked by the completion of bulk excavation, one of the most significant early stages of the build.
During this phase, our team has removed approximately 18,000m³ of material, the equivalent of more than seven olympic-size swimming pools, to prepare the site for the structure that will soon rise above it. Take a look at the below video to get a sense of just how significant this task really is.
An unexpected discovery 13 metres below ground revealed a collection of shells, offering a rare glimpse into the site’s coastal past and the layered history which we are looking to incorporate into the finished build.
The site team is now focused on preparing the foundation of the building. Works are underway to install a smooth concrete blinding layer, apply waterproofing systems to ensure a durable basement, and set the formwork in readiness for the next major step, the lowest basement raft slab pour.
The raft slab pour is one of the most important milestones in the project and will be completed in a single, continuous operation. Pouring the slab in one day allows it to cure as one seamless structure, creating a strong, unified foundation that will support the entire building.
